Junior Research Group for Modern Structure Analysis of complex chemical Systems by high resolution experimental Methods
The group was founded within the Excellence Initiative of the German Federal Government and the state governments starting its work in April 2009. Our research field is devoted to intermetallic compounds. Especially the development of methods and strategies to get insights into the chemical bonding of intermetallic compounds is a main issue. Nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy in combination with quantum mechanical methods are used for this purpose.
Recently we joined the SFB 761
Steel- ab initio to study local ordering of the atoms and magnetic properties of manganese rich steel. The focus of the SFB 761 is the development of a deeper understanding of these fascinating materials having a large impact on daily live.Furthermore, explorative synthesis efforts are done in the field of Zintl phases. If you are interested in our research you are welcome for discussion or just see the
